I recently got back from a three-month volunteer placement in Kenya through Platform2 which is a programme fully funded by the British government's Department for International Development (DfID), Christian Aid and BUNAC. The placements are based in rural environments where living conditions are very basic. While in Kenya, I really tried to capture the beauty and the poverty of my surroundings, so my photographs are centred on global issues that Kenya and the rest of the developing world face; food, agriculture, poverty, gender inequality and education - which I have made into a short movie.
