Stop Corruption in Kenya
Since Kenya gained independence in 1963, the country has been rife with corruption. There are loads of examples of the government being involved in corrupt activities and 80% of people are getting poorer.

Ctrl.Alt.Shift has partnered with the anti-corruption organisation Mars Group Kenya (www.marsgroupkenya.org) which monitors corruption in the country to call on the Kenyan government to put an end to its fraudulent activities.
The Mars Group has documented a variety of scandals and examples of the Kenyan government stealing money from its people through pretend contracts and fake companies. One of the biggest scandals of recent years is the Goldenberg Conspiracy which because of fictitious gold and diamond trading cost Kenya US$2 billion over a period of less than 3 years, money which went into the pockets of Kenyan government officials. Another scandal the Anglo Leasing scam increased Kenya’s external debt by US$800 million when Government officials entered into fictitious security related contracts with phantom companies. Today, the reform agenda is under funded as corruption continues with impunity.
The Kenyan government needs to be held to account and the grand corruption issue in Kenya needs to be raised within the international community.
Copy the below text and send it to as many of the people underneath as you can to put an end to corruption in Kenya.

Dear xxx
46 years ago a handover took place between Kenya and the British colonial government, marking the beginning of democracy for Kenya. But those 46 years have been rife with corruption and 80% of Kenyans are getting poorer. In 2008 1,133 Kenyans were killed in politically instigated post election violence and nobody has been held to account for this crime against humanity.
The Kenyan Government must be pushed to deliver on its duty to Kenyans as expected in the National Accord which became law in February 2008.
We, Ctrl.Alt.Shift partnered with MARS Group Kenya want the Kenyan government to not only sign up but act now to:
• Deliver the National Accord and restore fundamental rights of Kenyans
• Practice transparency and accountability in all public finance
• End Impunity and punish the masterminds of post election violence and corruption
• Act with only the best interest of the Kenyan people
Yours sincerely
